Fingerprint III (EBAM)

Short-Text:

"Enhanced Biometrical Algorithms against Manipulation"

Biometric systems are used for person identification and access control.
In this project, our target is to increase manipulation safety against attacks, while adhering to the given constraints of user comfort (i.e. false rejection rate), computation time, and security (i.e. false acceptence rate).

Fingerprint II (Speedup)

Short-Text:

Reducing processing time of fingerprint template extraction and matching without reducing detection quality.

Fingerprint template extraction and matching is done on an embedded processor with limited computation power.
In this project we tackle the following tasks:

  • Reducing the number of necessary filter operations for orientation field computation
  • Crease detection and matching with suitable time complexity
  • Binary matching: using binary descriptors for fingerprint database indexing.
